Words of wisdom

We all experience times of disappointments in life, and I want to share some encouraging words to help you get through your problems too. God is so faithful, His love never fails. Thank you, Jesus.

My soul melts from heaviness;Strengthen me according to Your word. -Psalm 119:28

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. -Galatians 6:9

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." -Revelation 21:3:4

"God hears and He sees, and you are not alone in your struggles. Remain firm and stable for God has your deliverance planned." -Joyce Meyer

A dozen of joy

I'm so happy! I got my package from an online store this evening! WASHI TAPES!!!!!
Since our Japan trip last month, I have been addicted to these little decorated tapes and have been using them for almost everything! I've used them for my planner, collages, notebooks, matchbox, instax shots, and so much more. It's a good thing there are few online stores selling them 'cause I'm really addicted! You cannot imagine how crazy I was at the art stores at Japan that have hundreds of designs and sizes of Washi tapes. It was impossible to satisfy my craving for Washi tapes and fit them all into my budget. Haha. I know I sound crazy but I really love art and designing, and these little things are just perfect.

12 designs added to my collection. I'll post the others next time!

Pencil marks

Today is our second day of classes at the Philippine School of Interior Design, or PSID. We had Freehand Drawing I and our first lesson was learning how to sharpen a pencil. Easy peasy, huh? Wrong. We had to sharpen our H and F pencils using a cutter. The lead should be half an inch long, same with the wood. Then we had to make the lead pointy using a pencil pointer. It was really difficult to do it! I was afraid my pencil would turn out reallyyy short from sharpening. Haha. After sharpening, our prof got all our pencils and commented on them. Mine was too "pregnant." Haha! Well, I need to lessen more wood, it was too bulky. And show more lead.

Our first seatwork was to draw vertical, horizontal, diagonal lines, circles, and letters on a piece of bond paper. It also looks easy, but no. The lines and spacing and everything had to be perfect. Very stressful. We need to make the same plate at home, and I hope can do better this time.
Notes on the board. Picture from Far.

The sample plate.... from '98. She got 100%! Hands down.

I have a lot of mistakes. Nevermind my grade.

I still have a lot of things to do, you know. Really, I don't know how I manage to do so many things, including blogging. I guess I can say I just like multi-tasking. Though sometimes, I break down. Hahaha

Matchbox Monday

I know it's not Monday, but here's what I did that day:

I was craving for something creative to do with my hands. I forgot where I got the inspiration from, maybe pictures from the internet, and I suddenly wanted to design a matchbox. There are many art materials I have been collecting (I like collecting a LOT of things, I'll show them in my future posts) and I thought that creating unique artworks would make good use of them. Here are the materials I used (some not in picture):

Matchbox
Glue
Scissors
Different kinds of paper
Doily
Paper string
Washi tapes (My favorite!)
Lace ribbon
Beads

The matchbox has a vintage feel which matches my style. I hope you liked it! I'll post more soon enough.

Hello!
This blog is for the purpose of posting my artworks and random things I like to post about. I find it awkward to post my posts now in Facebook since it looks like I'm "showing off." Mostly my entries would be more of pictures since I'm not really expressive in words. Enjoy your trip
