Updates

And I'm back! I've been way too busy for the past few months. School got in the way. The work load is different now, and skill and concentration is really important in making plates. I know it was just the first term, but, you'll understand when you study at PSID. Haha! But the term was great, really memorable. And I can say I really did well in terms of grades. Yay! Hard work paid off :) It's now the first week of our second term, and I'm having a full load sched (Perspective 1, History of Art & Architecture, Materials & Methods 1, Mechanical Drawing 2, Freehand 2). I'm kinda scared actually, last term we only had 4 subjects and I was already stressed out. I don't know what'll happen this term, but I know God will help me (Amen!).

I wanna tell everything about the past term, but that would be so difficult. I'll just dedicate a post someday about my plates, I'll show some pictures of them. Especially our Elements of Principle & Design finals! Oh, I really love the table setting we did! ♥

Tuesday class

We presented our "name tags" this morning in Elements class. This was what I was working on for the past few days. The name tag should show our personality, so I opted to doodle on shoes. Nothing new, actually. But I realized something when I was working on the shoes. I usually get so bored of painting and thought that I would make just simple doodles since it's mine and people won't really look at the details, para lang masabi na doodle shoes, unlike what I do for the customers na todo effort. But I couldn't help but make the shoes look as good as what I always do. I don't know, maybe sometimes I feel so sick of painting & doodling but I just can't let go of it or I just can't make mediocre work. Basically, I love what I do :)

Pencil marks

Today is our second day of classes at the Philippine School of Interior Design, or PSID. We had Freehand Drawing I and our first lesson was learning how to sharpen a pencil. Easy peasy, huh? Wrong. We had to sharpen our H and F pencils using a cutter. The lead should be half an inch long, same with the wood. Then we had to make the lead pointy using a pencil pointer. It was really difficult to do it! I was afraid my pencil would turn out reallyyy short from sharpening. Haha. After sharpening, our prof got all our pencils and commented on them. Mine was too "pregnant." Haha! Well, I need to lessen more wood, it was too bulky. And show more lead.

Our first seatwork was to draw vertical, horizontal, diagonal lines, circles, and letters on a piece of bond paper. It also looks easy, but no. The lines and spacing and everything had to be perfect. Very stressful. We need to make the same plate at home, and I hope can do better this time.

I still have a lot of things to do, you know. Really, I don't know how I manage to do so many things, including blogging. I guess I can say I just like multi-tasking. Though sometimes, I break down. Hahaha
